UAE continues support of education sector in liberated cities in Yemen

UAE provides 7,000 people in Al Wade’a, Yemen with food aid

Aden: The UAE is continuing its support of the education sector in liberated regions in Yemen — with the cooperation of local universities and educational bodies — by organising various activities and supplying educational equipment to help the future generation of Yemeni graduates.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony at the University of Aden — one of the universities the ERC works closely with — Tayeb Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of ERC team in Aden, said the organisation’s cooperation with the University of Aden is part of joint efforts to ensure the success of the educational process in liberated areas and includes the reconstruction of university buildings and the provision of necessary supplies and equipment.

The ceremony saw 65 students graduate from the university’s faculty of engineering.

Elsewhere in Yemen, the ERC has distributed 1,000 food baskets to families in the Al Wade’a District in the Governorate of Abyan.

The ERC said the food supplies will help ease the suffering of 7,000 people living in difficult conditions.
