US mission in Saudi Arabia resumes visa services
Validity of MRV fee for non-migrant visa applications extended till September 2022
Cairo: The US diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia has announced the re-opening of routine non-immigrant visa services in limited numbers in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran.
Travellers can schedule appointments for the range of visa categories on-line, the mission said in a statement. Due to COVID-19 prevention measures and staffing, visa appointments are “extremely limited and subject to change,” it added.
Visa applicants are asked to schedule appointments only when they have made tentative travel plans. “Our consular sections will continue to prioritise American citizen services, immigrant visas, students, and emergency non-immigrant visas,” the mission said.
It noted that many non-immigrant visa applicants have paid a visa application fee (known as the MRV fee) and are still waiting to schedule a visa interview. “The US Mission will extend the validity of this MRV fee until September 30, 2022, to allow all applicants who were unable to schedule an appointment as a result of the suspension of routine visa services an opportunity to schedule an appointment with the already paid fee.”
