Saudis extend residency visas of stranded expatriates

Residency, visit visas to be extended till June 2 for free

Dubai: Saudi Arabia will extend the validity of residency and visit visas of expatriates stranded in countries on the travel ban list, state news agency said on Monday.

The validity of residency permits, exit and re-entry visas, as well as visit visas of expatriates who are currently stranded in countries facing travel ban, will be extended until June 2, for free, according to a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency

The free extension of the validity of iqamas and visas comes as per of a royal decree by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, and forms part of the continuous efforts by the Saudi government to ensure the safety of citizens and residents and reduce financial burden on them.

According to SPA, the General Directorate of Passports has confirmed that the extension will be done automatically in cooperation with the National Information Center.
