Dubai: A Saudi man died after he was swept away by floods caused by torrential rain in Medina, while his son is still missing, local media reported.

The 58-year-old man and his son ventured out in heavy rains to help people who were trapped inside their vehicles.

Rescue teams retrieved the father’s body while the search continues for the missing son who is believed to have died.

Several parts of Saudi Arabia have recently witnessed torrential rains that led to flash floods.
