Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Pakistan army chief Bajwa discuss ties
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to visit the kingdom today
Cairo: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman met Pakistani Chief of the Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed ties between the two countries mainly in military and defence fields, the Saudi news agency SPA reported Friday.
The talks held in the Saudi port city of Jeddah also explored prospects for developing bilateral relations as well as a number of issues of mutual interest.
Saudi Deputy Defence Minister Khalid Bin Salman also held “excellent” talks with the Pakistani official.
Excellent meeting
“Had an excellent meeting with my brother General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, to discuss our defense relations and affirm our two countries’ goal to preserve regional peace and stability,” Prince Khalid said on Twitter.
Bajwa’s talks came ahead of a visit due to start Friday by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia.
The two-day visit comes at an invitation from Prince Mohammed and will focus on enhancing Saudi-Pakistani ties and tackle regional and international issues of mutual interest, SPA reported.
The Saudi crown prince visited Pakistan in 2019.
