Abu Dhabi: The Saudi Ministry of Commerce named and shamed the owner of a petrol station after a ruling was issued condemning him for violating the anti-commercial fraud laws and selling fuel that did not meet the required specifications and standards, Saudi media reported.
The ministry published a summary of the ruling issued by the Criminal Court in Riyadh, which includes imposing a financial fine on the owner of the facility, closing it for a month and defaming him by publishing the rulings in a local newspaper at the expense of the violator.
The Ministry had received a complaint against the station, located in the Al Janadriyah neighbourhood, east of Riyadh.
Samples of 91 gasoline were taken for examination in specialised laboratories, and it was found that it had been mixed with diesel and water.
