Saudi Arabia: King Salman makes key ministerial changes

Central Bank gets new governor, merged Ministry of Municipal, Rural and Housing Affairs



King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, will host the meetings of the forty-first session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdul Aziz on Sunday issued several royal decrees, relieving ministers and senior officials of duties and appointing new ones.

The Ministry of Housing will be merged with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs under the name of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural and Housing Affairs.

Majid Abdullah Hamad Al Hugail has been appointed as the Minister of Municipal, Rural and Housing Affairs.

Dr. Fahad Abdullah Abdul Latif Al Mubarak has been relieved of his post as Minister of State and appointed as the Governor of the Central Bank with the rank of minister, to replace Dr. Ahmed Abdul Karim Al Khulaifi, who has been relieved of his duties. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Karim Al Khulaifi has been promoted to the rank of minister and appointed as Adviser at the Royal Court.

Major General Sulaiman Abdul Aziz Al Yahya, Director General of Passports, has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general.
