Saudi Arabia administers 36.7m COVID-19 jabs

Kingdom records nearly 24,000 violations of coronavirus rules in a week

Abu Dhabi: Saudi Arabia recorded 23,837 violations of COVID-19 precautions across the Kingdom from August 22 to 29, local media reported.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of violations with 8,766, followed by the Eastern Province with 2,971, Medinah with 2,320, Mecca with 2,178, Al Qassim with 1,998, and Ha’il with 1,780.

Meanwhile, the country has administered 36.7 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, including 22.1 million first doses, and 14.5 million second doses, while the number of elderly people who were inoculated reached 1.591 million people, the Ministry of Health said.

The data showed more than 454,000 new doses were given to citizens and residents during the past 24 hours.

The ministry had launched the first phase of the vaccination campaign on December 17, while the second phase was launched on February 18, which witnessed the expansion of the vaccination process in all regions.
