COVID-19: Saudi Arabia reports 2,509 new cases, 9 deaths

Dubai: Saudi Arabia reported 2,509 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 59,854, the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday (May 19).

Meanwhile, the ministry reported 2,886 recoveries today, with total recoveries in the kingdom at 31,634. There are 251 cases in intensive care.

The ministry also confirmed 9 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the kingdom to 329.

The Saudi Interior Ministry said on Tuesday that deliberate transmitters of infection face up to five years in prison or a fine of maximum 500,000 riyals or both - penalties that will double in case of repetition.
