Coronavirus: Saudi Arabia confirms 157 new cases, 6 deaths

Total number of infections rises to 1720, total recoveries 264

Dubai: Saudi Arabia on Wednesday recorded 157 new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing to 1,720 the total infections across the kingdom. Six new deaths have also been reported, taking the death toll to 16.

Total recoveries shoot up to 264, according to Saudi Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah. 

The minister highlighted the importance of adhering to preventive measures and the need to avoid crowded places and social gatherings. He urged people to limit their movement

Meanwhile, Mohammed Saleh Bin Taher Banten, Saudi Haj and Umrah Minister, has urged Muslims worldwide intending to perform pilgrimage this year to put their Haj plans on hold until a clearer picture emerges due to the coronavirus pandemic that is ravaging the globe.
