Dubai: Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health confirmed 166 new cases of coronavirus reported on Thursday, bringing the total number of infections to 2376.

The ministry announced the recovery of 28 infected people, taking the total number of recovered patients to 206. The country’s coronavirus infection cases include five deaths, the ministry said on its official twitter account.

The newly diagnosed cases linked to returnees from coronavirus hit countries, and those who had been in contact with the previously announced cases. New infection cases were recorded among expatriate workers.

The ministry urged the public to adhere to preventive measures and maintain a safe distance from others to reduce their chances of contracting the virus.
