Dubai: Two girls drowned in one of the valleys of Rustaq in South Al Batinah in Oman.

An official from the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance said: “Two girls, one of them aged five, drowned in a water hole in Wadi Sadaq, specifically at the course of the valley in the town of Al Muhbab, in Wadi Bani Ghafer, in Rustaq.”

“The girls were pulled out of the hole and were found to be dead,” he added.

Meanwhile, police arrested a citizen who was seen crossing valleys in his 4WD.

A statement issued by the ROP, said: “Al Dhahirah Governorate Police Command detained a citizen for crossing valleys in a risky manner, exposing himself and those with him to danger. Legal measures have been taken against him.”
