Oman: Royal Air Force carries out medical evacuation

Asian patient airlifted from Lima to Khasab Hospital suffering from blood clot in heart



Cairo: Oman’s Royal Air Force (RAF) has carried out a medical evacuation for an Asian migrant employee suffering from a blood clot in the heart, local media reported today.

The patient was transported Thursday evening aboard an RAF plane from a health centre in the village of Lima in the governorate of Musandam in northern Oman to the Khasab Hospital to get necessary treatment, the online newspaper Al Shabiba reported without further details.

The humanitarian gesture is part of service provided by RAF and other affiliates of the Omani Defence Ministry for citizens and foreign residents.

Foreigners make up around 2 million of Oman’s overall population of about 5 million people.
