Muscat: As temperatures dipped in Oman’s capital, people ventured outdoors to enjoy the stronger-than-usual breeze, cooler weather, and the cheerful mood.

People staying in Muscat and Ruwi side took to the Muttrah Souq - forever evergreen, charming and quaint. The cooler days make it even more attractive as the warm aroma of spices send inviting vibes, along with the mixed delicious aromas of street food from the shops lining the entrance of the souq waft around.

Corniche was buzzing too with men, women and kids enjoying a leisurely stroll by the calm blue waters. Al Alam Palace in Muscat town area had visitors taking in the view and of course the mandatory selfies, sufficiently padded in warm clothes.

Royal Opera House and the outdoor restaurant housed in its complex had a steady outpour of guests who didn’t hide their inhibition to snap good pictures in the backdrop of the classic structure.

Shati Qurum beach, a beach for all seasons, is particularly a magnet for lovely days. Some lazed in camp chairs while others strolled and cycled. Youngsters were active with their games while kids kept their moms busy with their antics.

Motorists took extra care to avoid mishaps as happy-go-lucky balls spilled over to parking lot in the Shati beach side lot with boys running to retrieve it.
