Oman reopens land borders with GCC countries
Residents should provide proof of work from the employer at border check points
Muscat: Oman reopened land borders with neighbouring GCC countries allowing Omanis and residents to cross the borders for work purposes.
However, it is mandatory for residents to provide proof of work from the employer at the border check points.
Mosques reopened
Oman’s Supreme Committee, meanwhile, allowed the reopening of mosques but with a capacity limited to 100 worshippers for the five daily prayers. Also, commercial activities will now be open even during 8pm to 4am.
Pertinent among the resumption are that of gyms, health clubs, marriage halls and sports grounds.
The permissible entry is restricted in the above places to 30 per cent of the capacity or not more than 300 people at a time, depending on the capacity. The decision however to restrict the entry to shopping complexes and cafes to 50 per cent of the capacity remains, while children no longer are banned to enter these complexes.
Beaches, parks and public gardens have also reopened with a stern warning not to congregate in gatherings of any kind. Sports activities and gyms have also resumed sending a spark of cheer among the sports enthusiasts even though the gyms and fitness clubs are open only with 50 per cent capacity. The gyms and swimming pools within the premises of hotels are also allowed to resume adhering to Covid guidelines.
