COVID-19: Oman’s infections hit 83,418, total deaths stand at 597

Data indicates a drop in coronavirus cases in the country

Cairo: Oman said Tuesday that its overall infections of the coronavirus have risen to 83,418, an increase of 192 new cases against the tally reported the day before.

The Omani Health Ministry put the total deaths from COVID-19 at 597 with nine new fatalities.

The total number of recovered patients in the sultanate has reached 77,997, or 93.5 per cent, the ministry said, according to the Omani news agency ONA.

The ministry added that 154 patients are receiving intensive care treatment.

A recent Health Ministry report said that epidemiological data indicates a drop in infection cases in Oman.

Omani authorities this week lifted a ban on night-time movement that was imposed to contain the spread of COVID-19.
