COVID-19: Oman reports 1,366 new cases; tally at 34,902

Abu Dhabi: Oman Thursday recorded 1,366 new cases of the novel coronavirus, keeping an upward trend and raising to 34,902 the country's overall infections, the Omani news agency ONA said.

The newly diagnosed cases comprise 680 Omanis and 686 foreign residents, the Health Ministry said without providing a breakdown of foreign nationalities.

The ministry also announced two more deaths from COVID-19, taking Oman's total of such fatalities to 144.

The country's overall recoveries from the disease has increased by 548 to take the total to 18,520, the ministry said.

There are 107 patients currently receiving intensive care treatment.

Oman has conducted 3,835 coronavirus tests over the past 24 hours, said the ministry.
