Cairo: Oman’s Health Ministry Sunday announced 157 new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing to 5,186 the country's overall infections.

The newly diagnosed cases include 81 Omanis and 76 foreigners, the ministry said without giving a breakdown of foreign patients’ nationalities.

Meanwhile, a 48-year-old foreign resident, who was infected with coronavirus, succumbed to the deadly virus, bringing to 22 the total such fatalities in Oman, the ministry reported Sunday, according to the Omani news agency ONA.

The total recoveries in the sultanate has reached 1,465 cases, the ministry added.
