Oman has closed its beaches and parks for two weeks as coronavirus cases rise in the Sultanate, Oman News Agency said on Wednesday.

The decision was taken by the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling COVID-19.

The move is part of a slew of measures taken by the Sultanate to contain the increase in daily reported cases. The Ministry of Health on Wednesday reported 190 new cases, apart from 200 suspected cases of the new COVID-19 strain.

Three days ago, Oman extended the closure of its land borders until further notice, while its sea and air borders remain open under precautionary measures.
