COVID-19: Oman Airports ready for takeoff again on October 1
Volunteers invited to participate in trial testing operational readiness
Muscat: Oman Airports is offering a chance for the general public to take part in a trial to test the operational readiness of Muscat International Airport on Friday September 25 before normal operations resume from October 1.
The Oman Airports authorities invited volunteers among Omani Nationals as well as expatriate residents to take part in the trial at 9:00am ahead of the planned re-opening of the airport on October 1.

Muscat International Airport will be conducting health screening procedures and COVID-19 testing for all arriving passengers, when commercial operations resume.
A total of 150 volunteers who have registered will undergo the full arrival process including registration, immigration, COVID-19 PCR tests (nasal swabs), and exit through the baggage claim hall.
On the same day, the drive-through COVID-19 testing facility will also be tested with the help of a smaller number of volunteers.
As part of the trial, the volunteers will receive a free PCR test (worth OMR 25), with the result communicated within 24 hours. The chosen volunteers must bring with them a valid passport and airport pass if they have.
The participation in this unique exercise is for those above 12 years of age and the participants must be present at the airport at 9:00am on that day. All of them are requested to wear face mask at all times and maintain social distancing throughout the trial.
