Dubai: Kuwait residents felt an earthquake early Sunday morning with exact location still to be determined, local media reported.

The environmental group Green Line said that an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit Iran and was felt by Kuwaitis in different regions.

The National Seismic Information Centre (NEIC) of the United States Geological Survey reported the magnitude 5.8 earthquake at a depth of 10km. about 27 km northeast of Bandar-e-Gino in Iran.

Iranian television said that a magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit the Bushehr region in the south of the country, which is home to a nuclear power plant, but there were no reports of injuries.
