COVID-19: Kuwait reports 720 new cases, 3 deaths

Latest cases bring total infections to 88,963, fatalities to 540

Cairo: Kuwait has recorded 720 further cases of the new coronavirus over the past 24 hours, a decrease of 145 cases compared to the tally reported the day before, taking the country's overall infections to 88,963.

The country's death tally due to COVID-19 has climbed to 540 with three new fatalities, Health Ministry's spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said Saturday.

There are 91 patients receiving intensive care treatment, Dr Al Sanad added, according to the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.

Kuwait's total virus tests have reached 640,634 after 4,414 tests have been done over the past 24 hours.

The Health Ministry also said that 486 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing to 79,903 the overall number of recoveries from the ailment in Kuwait.
