COVID-19: Kuwait confirms first case of Omicron variant

Dubai: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health on Wednesday confirmed the first case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
“The first case of Omicron variant of COVID-19 has been detected in Kuwait,” the ministry said in a statement on its website.
The country on Tuesday reported 31 new cases, bringing the total number of infections to 413,555, while no deaths were reported, keeping the fatality tally unchanged at 2,465. Twenty-two people have made full recovery, taking the overall recoveries to 410,768.
