COVID-19: 650 nurses stranded in India return to Kuwait
Abu Dhabi: Some 350 nurses who were stranded in India are due to arrive in Kuwait Friday, after the return of 300 others Thursday, according to the instructions of the Minister of Health Dr Basil Al Sabah.
Sources told Al Jarida that these returnees will work in health facilities according to needs of public and field hospitals fighting the coronavirus pandemic, according to a plan developed in this regard.
The Health Ministry provided them with housing in the Jaber Al Ahmad area for two days, until the results of their laboratory tests are released. They will be accommodated in their original homes after ensuring that they are tested negative for COVID-19.
Continuous coordination with the Indian authorities led to the return of the stranded nurses, who left Kuwait before the coronavirus outbreak and were stranded in their country, the sources said.
