Bahrain reports 220 new COVID-19 cases

More than 220,812 people have been tested for coronavirus in Bahrain

Dubai: Bahrain’s Ministry of Health has announced the detection of 220 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 6,418.

The ministry noted that 158 expatriate workers were among the new cases, with 50 of them getting the virus from direct contact with active cases.

A total of 284 COVID-19 patients have recovered fully from the symptoms of the virus, taking the total number of patients recovered so far to 2,637. The recovered cases have been discharged from dedicated treatment centres.

The ministry affirmed it would continue to increase its testing capacity, carrying out 9,685 COVID19 tests within the past 24 hours.

Currently, a total of 220,812 people have been tested and the total number of confirmed active cases is 3,771, among which 4 patients are in critical condition.
