Koreas 'without nukes', Kim to visit Seoul 'in the near future'
South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un agree to push for peninsula without nuclear weapons
PYONGYANG, North Korea: South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have agreed to push for Korean Peninsula without nuclear weapons, with a promise by the North to shut down its missile test site.
The South Korean president said the North has agreed to dismantle missile engine test site, launch pad and allow inspections.
Following are some of the reported deals:
■ In the North Korean capital, Moon met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a joint statement, though no details were immediately disclosed.
■ Moon said the two Koreas have agreed to "eliminate all the danger of war from the Korean Peninsula".
■ North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will make a historic visit to Seoul "in the near future", he said on September 19, after a summit with the South's Moon Jae-in in Pyongyang.
■ AP also reported that the Koreas have agreed to disarm a jointly controlled border village, starting with the removal of land mines.
■ North and South Korea have also agreed to seek to jointly host the 2032 Summer Olympics, AP reported.
