Police arrest man in Andhra Pradesh after he sends video to wife’s family
Hyderabad: A man has been arrested in Andhra Pradesh after shooting a video of his wife hanging herself from a ceiling fan.
Even after realising that his wife was serious about her threat to end her life, he not only kept instigating her by shooting the video using his phone, but also sent the video to his in-laws after the incident.
Police in Andhra Pradesh have arrested the 38-year-old accused Penchalaiah, a security guard working at an ATM in Atmakur town of Nellore district.
According to the police, Penchalaiah was harassing his wife Kondamma alleging that she was having an extra marital affair. After a heated altercation Kondamma, 31 years, threatened to hang herself.
In the video, now seized by the police, Penchalaiah is heard egging his wife on to commit suicide. “I will not stop you if you end your life. I will show this video to your brother”, he is heard saying in the video.
At one stage in the video the woman is seen looking towards her husband, hoping that he would stop her, but Penchalaiah is heard exhorting her to take the extreme step.
Police were informed about the incident by the woman’s parents after they received the shocking video from their son-in-law.
The police have booked a case of abetment of suicide and mental torture against Penchalaiah and arrested him. The couple had two children.
