Kerala serial killings: Astrologer says he doesn't know Jolly Joseph or her first husband Roy
Dubai: In an update in the Koodathai serial murder case, astrologer Krishnkumar, who went absconding following the Jolly Joseph case, returned home in Kattapana on Thursday, according to media reports from the Indian state of Kerala. Last week 47-year-old Jolly Joseph was arrested for allegedly killing 6 members of her family over 14 years starting 2002.
He has been facing probe after the investigation team recovered an amulet from the body of Roy, Jolly’s first husband. Reports say that Krishnakumar had been summoned by the police for interrogation, following Roy’s death. But he neglected the order.
Meanwhile, Krishnakumar dismissed the allegations about his connection with the accused Jolly and her deceased first husband Roy.
“I don’t know whether her first husband Roy had come here or not. I don’t keep the register containing the list of those visiting me for more than two years. I give ‘ellas’ (thread of faith) to many people,” asserted the astrologer while responding to the media.
“Being an astrologer, I used to give amulets. It contains bhasma (sacred ash) and I never ask anyone to consume it. A month ago, a crime branch official phoned me to discuss on a case. But he never asked me to appear before for interrogation. He said the officials will visit me. But I never considered it as a serious matter,” said Krishnakumar.
Crime Branch has been examining the chance of poisoning from the amulet on Roy’s body. The probe team had also recovered a paper with the astrologer’s name from Roy’s pocket, due to which he had been summoned for further investigastion.
