India: Watchman’s son tops High School exam in Madhya Pradesh

I stay away from social media, says Ayushman who wants to be an engineer

Sagar: The son of a watchman, Ayushman Tamrakar, has jointly secured ‘rank one’ in the Madhya Pradesh High School examination with Gagan Tripathi. Ayushman’s father Vimal Tamrakar works as a watchman at a community centre.

Ayushman is a student of Government Excellence School in Sagar district and he has secured 499 marks out of 500.

Ayushman’s father works as a ‘chowkidar’ (watchman) at a community centre while his mother Barkha works as a daily wager.

“I stay away from social media. We can opt for social media at any point of time but cannot always study. So, I gave priority to the studies,” Ayushman said, adding he wants to be an engineer.

Ayushman’s study partner is his twin sister Aayushi.

MP Board declared its Class 10 result on Wednesday. When Ayushman’s father got the news of his son’s success as well as excellent performance by Aarushi, he was overjoyed.

Ayushman’s mother is concerned about further studies of his son. “How will we bear the expenses. We barely earn to meet our daily needs,” she said, adding that Ayushman was also working as a helper at nearby shops. We want to see him as a successful engineer.”

On Wednesday, Ayushman was busy taking selfies with people and narrating them the story of his success in his kachcha-pucca home in Sagar district’s Mohannagar ward.
