India: Two dead, several injured after cable cars collide in Jharkhand

At least 50 people are still stuck in at least 12 cabins in the ropeway

Ranchi: At least two people were killed and several injured after some cable cars in a ropeway collided with each other due to a technical snag over Tirkut Pahad area in Deoghar district of Jharkhand on Sunday, authorities said.

As per media reports, 50 people are still stuck in at least 12 cabins in the ropeway and a rescue operation is underway.

Acccording to PTI report, the ropeway manager and other employees fled the spot after the incident.

A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been deployed at the spot for the rescue operation, Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri said.
