Weathermen reported heavy showers on Monday in various parts of the UAE due to the unstable weather pattern that saw wadis and dams flooding in the last few days.

Authorities urged motorists to avoid camping in wadis and low-lying areas — as Fujairah Port recorded the highest amount of rainfall in 24 hours since 1977 at 102.8mm.

The National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) reported that Al Dhaid in Sharjah, Al Owaid in Al Dharfa, Sweihan-Al AinRoad in Abu Dhabi as well as parts of Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah saw varying degrees of downpour late on Monday afternoon.

NCM expectst the unstable weather to continue until October 31, Wednesday, as convective clouds move westward and affect coastal areas, as well as along the interior areas.

On Sunday, heavy rains led to flash floods in various wadis resulting in some road closures in Fujairah, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.

Sharjah police also closed both roads to and from Wadi Al Hilo due to flash floods while the road to Jebel Jais was shut down by RAK police.
