Dog shows, pet adoption drive: Dubai to host pet festival this weekend

Dubai: Dubai Parks and Resorts is hosting its inaugural pet festival over the weekend.

Riverland Dubai, located inside the theme park, will host a fun-filled event bringing together families, pet lovers, and their beloved companions for a jam-packed event.

The festival will run from 2pm to 10pm and feature competitions, pet adoptions, and performances. A major highlight is the World Kennel Union Championship Dog Show, where dogs and their owners will showcase their skills and compete for top recognition.

Meanwhile, the cat show competitions will celebrate the feline beauty and agility of furry friends.

For those eager to test their pets’ skills, can participate in the agility competition, which promises a fun and friendly challenge. The pet fashion show and fancy-dress competition will also take Centre stage, encouraging creativity and rewarding the most stylish costumes with exciting prizes.

Additionally, expert-led pet obedience demonstrations will provide tips to strengthen the bond between pets and their owners.

A key part of the event is the pet adoption drive, where guests can meet adoptable pets and learn about local shelters and organisations dedicated to animal welfare.
