Dubai to have new cardiovascular centre
Dubai: Dubai is all set to have a state-of-the-art cardiovascular centre soon, as Dubai strives to become the regional health care hub.
Approved by the Dubai Executive Council, the centre will be developed jointly on a public-private partnership, offering patients world class health facilities.
Based on a proposal of the Dubai Healthcare Authority (DHA), the cardiovascular centre will be equipped with best-in-class equipment and technologies, and will operate according to the highest international standards.
According to DHA, the centre, apart from offering best treatment will also play a major role in research about the cardiovascular issues, which the World Health Organisation considers the main cause of death in the world.
The new centre is in line with Dubai’s growth needs. The emirate requires 300 beds for cardiovascular patients by 2030, an annual growth of 7 per cent between 2018 and 2030.
Speaking following the announcement about the centre, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that the happiness and well-being of citizens and residents is central to the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as he believes that people represent the greatest asset for growth.
Shaikh Hamdan also said that improving specialised health care services is the top priority of the government.
“The UAE citizen is at the top of our priorities. All strategic government plans revolve around achieving welfare and stability for our citizens as well as comprehensive sustainable development in every sphere,” said Shaikh Hamdan.
He added: “Dubai’s health care sector tops our priorities. This high priority enables us to ensure that we maintain the highest quality standards and develop policies and strategies for creating a world-class health care system.”
He also highlighted the role of the private sector in supporting national economic growth and contributing to Dubai’s efforts to create an advanced model for delivering health care services.
