UAE President receives Iraqi Prime Minister Al Sudani

Iraqi PM is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes a number of ministers

Abu Dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Thursday received Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani who is currently on a state visit to the country.

Al Sudani was accorded an official reception ceremony on his arrival at Qasr Al Watan where the national anthem of Iraq was played, followed by a 21-gun salute.

The Iraqi premier arrived earlier in the day and was received by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Court, and other sheikhs and senior officials.

He is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes a number of Iraqi ministers.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohamed held talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Al Sudani dealing with bilateral relations and prospects to develop avenues of cooperation and joint action between the two countries.

The talks focused on ways to expand the scope of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment and development in the best interests of the two countries and peoples.

Sheikh Mohamed and Al Sudani exchanged views over a number of regional and international issues and topics of common interest.

They highlighted their identical views on the need to find peaceful settlements to disputes and crises in the region, as well as the importance of advancing diplomatic endeavours that contribute to achieving people’s aspirations for stability, progress and prosperity.
