Fire in Dubai: Shop gutted in Ras Al Khor district

Dubai: A fire broke out late on Sunday afternoon in Al Awir district when flames gutted a shop off Ras Al Khor Road.

The fire broke out near a petrol pump and a clinic at around 5.30pm. As Dubai Civil Defence personnel worked to contain the flames, residents of Al Aweer neighbourhood were evacuated.

The shop went up in smoke in Ras Al Khor Industrial Area 1.

Firefighters from the Dubai Civil Defense are at the scene.
