Watch: Arab Reading Champion 2024 to be crowned in Dubai on July 2

Latest edition sees record participation of over 28 million students

Dubai: The winners of the eighth Arab Reading Challenge, the world’s largest project to promote reading among students, will be honoured at an awards ceremony in Dubai tomorrow (Tuesday, July 2).

This year’s edition has seen record participation, with around 28.8 million students, a 13.7 per cent increase compared to last year’s 24.8 million students who competed in the challenge. The participating students hailed from 229,000 schools representing 50 countries from across the world.

The winner of the Arab Reading Champion title will be awarded a cash prize of Dh500,000, while a cash prize of Dh1 million will be given to the Outstanding School. Another Dh300,000 award will be presented to the Outstanding Supervisor.

The winner of the People of Determination category will receive a cash prize of Dh200,000, while Dh100,000 will be awarded to the winner of the Community Champion category.
