Asian woman dies after jumping from highway bridge
Sharjah Police investigating cause of the accident
Sharjah: A 38-year-old Asian woman died on the spot on Saturday morning after she jumped from a highway bridge on Sharjah-Al Dhaid Road, police said on Sunday.
Brigadier Mohammad Rashid Byat, director of operations, said Sharjah Police received call about the incident at 7.43am.
A speeding motorist did not notice the body lying on the road and ran over her. The woman was pronounced dead at the accident site.
Police said the body belonged to an Asian woman identified M.A. and was 38 year old,
Initial investigation does not suggest any criminal activity was involved in the young woman’s death.
The body was moved to forensic laboratory and the CID officers are now investigating circumstances leading to her death.
