A jaw-dropping video has gone viral showing a man performing pull-ups while hanging off the edge of India’s longest bridge. The daredevil stunt took place on the Bhupen Hazarika Setu, also known as the Dhola-Sadiya Bridge, in Assam.

The footage, widely circulated on social media, shows the man gripping the side beam of the massive structure and effortlessly doing pull-ups, hundreds of feet above the river. With no safety harness or protective gear, the stunt sparked both awe and outrage online.

While some viewers praised his strength and fearlessness, many others criticised the act as reckless and dangerous. Authorities have reportedly taken note of the incident, warning against such life-threatening behaviour. Performing stunts on public infrastructure not only endangers lives but also violates safety laws.

The Bhupen Hazarika Setu spans 9.15 kilometres and is a vital connection between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. It was inaugurated in 2017 to improve transportation and strategic connectivity in the region.

Officials are now reviewing surveillance footage to identify the man involved, as concerns grow about social media stunts encouraging copycat behaviour.

Police have reminded citizens that stunts like these, while visually striking, can have fatal consequences and will not be taken lightly.
