Presidential poll will follow parliamentary vote by one month

Tunis: Tunisia’s election authority is proposing holding a parliamentary election in October and the first round of a presidential vote the following month, marking the final step towards full democracy in cradle of the Arab Spring uprisings.

“Our proposal, which we will present to the Constituent Assembly, is to hold parliamentary elections on October 26, 2014, and for the first session of the presidential vote be held on November 23, 2014, and the second session on December 26,” Chafik Sarsar, head of the country’s election commission, told said on Monday
