Baghdad: Prominent Shiite neighbourhoods in Baghdad are sporting Palestinian graffiti on their walls in support of the Israeli aggression against Gaza.
"I am proud of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip for their refusal to surrender, despite the brutality of the Israeli military attack, and despite the high number of victims every day," Hassan Abdul Karim, a Shiite living in Al Shula area, told Gulf News.
In the Al Habibiya neighbourhood, one of the most important areas of influence of the Shiite political forces in the country - which criticised Palestinians for supporting Saddam Hussain - a banner writes "the Palestinian resistance, is the symbol of the defence of Arab and Islamic nation". Jasem Al Musawi, a student at Al Mustansiriya University lives in the Shiite Al Habibiya area.
He says: "I admire the Palestinian resistance and its steadfastness in front of the Israeli army, which is one of the strongest armies in the Middle East. This goes to prove that it is no longer just slogans, promises and emotions, but also skills of combat on the ground."
