Palestinian shot dead by troops in the West Bank

Occupied Jerusalem: Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian militant in the West Bank on Saturday, the Israeli army said.

An army spokeswoman said soldiers shot and killed a militant who had thrown a fire bomb at them near the Jewish settlement of Yitzhar, south of the Palestinian city of Nablus.

Last week armed Jewish settlers from Yitzhar assaulted Palestinians and damaged houses in a nearby village after a Palestinian stabbed and wounded a 9-year-old boy in a Jewish outpost.
