Occupied Jerusalem: Israel on Tuesday allowed fuel to be shipped to the power plant in Gaza after a request by peace ambassador Tony Blair.
Israel stopped the shipments last week and closed Gaza's border crossings in response to a wave of Palestinian rocket attacks, which followed an Israeli incursion into Gaza.
Israel is the sole provider of industrial fuel to Gaza's only power plant.
Israeli defence officials said Defence Minister Ehud Barak agreed to Blair's request to allow minimal amounts of fuel shipment for the plant. However, crossings would remain closed.
