Baghdad: An Iraqi Al Qaida-linked group on Saturday claimed responsibility for a suicide attack in Anbar province earlier this.

The group calling itself Islamic State in Iraq said in a website statement that it was behind Thursday's attack that killed more than 25 people.

The bomber struck a tribal council meeting in the town of Garma, northwest of Baghdad.

"[They] have sided with the Crusaders...and they violated the honour of Muslims and stole their money in the name of fighting terrorism," the Iraqi group said.
