Gaza visit by Bahrain king denied

Manama: Bahrain’s foreign minister has denied reports that King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa would visit Gaza or the Palestinian territories.

“There is no scheduled visit by HM King Hamad Bin Eisa to Gaza or to the Palestinian territories and there are no visits planned for the future,” Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmad Al Khalifa posted on his Twitter account.

An Egyptian daily claimed that King Hamad would visit Gaza this week, most likely on Thursday.

Citing sources it did not identify, the daily said that the Bahraini monarch would land in Egypt and then cross into Gaza through Rafah.
