Saudi man arrested for killing muezzin, worshipper

Cairo: Saudi police have arrested a man suspected of killing a muezzin and a worshipper in a mosque due to a dispute over the prayer timings and leading of worshippers, local media reported.

The suspected murderer, in his 60s, is believed to be suffering from psychological orders. He had reportedly stabbed the two victims in the mosque on Friday in Saudi Arabia’s north-western region of Tabuk.

Filed complaints

The muezzin had previously filed complaints against alleged harassment from the attacker, the media quoted unidentified sources as saying.

The suspected killer was arrested shortly after the murder, the reports added. There was no immediate police comment.
