Cairo: Saudi police have arrested a citizen suspected of involvement in a number of robberies, a security official has said.

The offender, in his 30s, had allegedly lured workers of electronic transport and delivery apps, Major Khaled Al Karidis, the assistant spokesman for the Riyadh police, added.

The man is also accused of assailing and robbing pedestrians of money estimated at SR30,000 and their valuables, he said.

In preliminary investigations, the offender had admitted to having committed a number of criminal offences in different parts of Riyadh, Al Kardisis said. The suspect is being kept in custody pending completion of legal procedures to be referred to public prosecution.
