Dubai: As Ramadan fast approaches, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has announced the Tahajjud prayer schedule for the last ten nights of Ramadan at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, allowing worshippers to prepare for the final stretch of the holy month.

The schedule, running from the 21st to the 30th night of Ramadan 1446 AH (2025), will see a rotation of renowned imams leading prayers at the two holiest sites in Islam.

Tahajjud, a voluntary late-night prayer, holds deep significance for Muslims, particularly during the last ten nights, which are considered a time for seeking divine mercy and blessings.

At the Grand Mosque, prominent imams, including Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al Sudais, Sheikh Dr. Maher Al Mu’aiqly, Sheikh Abdullah Juhany, and Sheikh Bandar Baleelah, will lead different segments of the prayers.

At Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Ahmed Taleb, Sheikh Abdullah Buayjaan, and Sheikh Saleh Budair will take turns conducting tahajjud, maintaining the mosque’s spiritual traditions.

The General Presidency has coordinated the plan to ensure a seamless experience for millions of worshippers expected to attend.

The last ten nights of Ramadan are believed to be the most sacred in Islam, with Laylat Al Qadr (Night of Decree), a night described in the Qur’an as “better than a thousand months,” falling within this period.

Saudi authorities have urged worshippers to follow the designated schedules and guidelines to ensure a smooth prayer experience.
