Dubai: An Egyptian man has been executed in Saudi Arabia for killing a woman and burning her body in Medina, the Saudi Ministry of Interior has announced today.
Egyptian Issam Mohammed Helal was convicted of strangling illegal expatriate resident Aisha Mustafa Mohammed Al Bernawi to death and burning her body in Medina to conceal his crime, the ministry said in a statement.
The preptrator was arrested by security authorities. He confessed to the crime before courts.
The death sentence was upheld by the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. A royal order was also issued to implement the ruling. The perpetrator was executed in the Medina prison on Wednesday.
