Abu Dhabi: At least three people were killed and 30 injured after a bus hit a camel and overturned in Tabuk city, northwestern Saudi Arabia.

Eyewitnesses told Sabq newspaper the crash was caused after the bus collided with a camel. Police gave no further details.

“The Red Crescent operations received a tip-off the accident occurred at 5.03pm on Sunday, in Jahra towards Taima governorate,” the official spokesperson of the Red Crescent said.

He added emergency teams from the Red Crescent, the Ministry of Health and the Civil Defence rushed to the scene.

“Three dead were removed from the overturned bus by the Civil Defence,” the spokesperson said.

He added 16 people with severe injuries were admitted to Taima hospital, while 14 others were treated at the scene.
