Qatar emir arrives in Jeddah to meet Saudi king

Riyadh: Qatar’s Emir Shaikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Jeddah on Tuesday to meet Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Doha-based Al Jazeera television reported, without giving details of what they plan to discuss.

The meeting is the first of the two leaders since a major rift between Qatar and Saudi Arabia earlier this year and follows attempts by Doha to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
